The United States Department of Agriculture has increased its forecast for the value of U.S. ethanol exports for fiscal year 2026, projecting an 11% rise over the previous year.
In its latest quarterly Outlook for U.S. Agriculture Trade report released on May 28, the USDA estimated that U.S. ethanol exports will reach a value of $5.1 billion in fiscal year 2026. The revised estimate is nearly 9% higher than the $4.7 billion forecast issued in February.
According to the report, the value of U.S. ethanol exports stood at $4.595 billion in fiscal year 2025, Ethanol Producer magazine reported.
The U.S. fiscal year runs from October 1 to September 30. For the October-March period of fiscal year 2026, the USDA estimated ethanol export values at $2.77 billion. This marks an increase of more than 20% compared to the $2.299 billion recorded during the same six-month period of fiscal year 2025.
The updated projections were published in the USDA’s quarterly agricultural trade outlook report, which provides estimates for key U.S. farm and biofuel exports.
