MUMBAI: Solapur Bioenergy Systems Private Limited (SBESPL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Organic Recycling Systems Limited (ORSL), has secured two contracts worth around Rs 167.30 crore from Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) to develop compressed biogas (CBG) plants in Karnataka and Chhattisgarh.
According to a regulatory filing, the Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Operation and Maintenance (EPCOM) contracts cover organic municipal solid waste-based CBG plants in Mysuru and Raipur. The combined contract value, including GST, is about Rs 167.30 crore.
The Mysuru project, awarded on September 3, 2026, is valued at Rs 85.56 crore, including GST, and will have an estimated capacity of 5 tonnes per day (TPD). The Raipur project, awarded on September 4, is valued at around Rs 81.74 crore, including GST, with an expected capacity of about 4.8 TPD. Together, the two plants will provide nearly 9.8 TPD of processing capacity.
Both projects are scheduled for completion within 15 months of the Letter of Acceptance (LOA). Mechanical completion is targeted within 12 months, after which SBESPL will provide operations and maintenance services for five years from commissioning.
Pankaj Tanwar, CEO – Bioenergy, Organic Recycling Systems Limited, said securing two EPCOM contracts from BPCL simultaneously in Karnataka and Chhattisgarh marked an important milestone for the company.
He said the contracts extend beyond conventional project construction as they include five-year O&M responsibilities, reflecting BPCL’s confidence in the company as a long-term operating partner.
ORSL said the latest contracts strengthen its engagement with public-sector oil marketing companies. The company recently secured the renewal of its O&M contract for the Gorakhpur CBG plant with Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL).
The company said its engagements with BPCL and IOCL reflect growing confidence in its technical and project execution capabilities as India’s CBG sector expands.
The CBG sector is being supported by government initiatives including the Sustainable Alternative Towards Affordable Transportation (SATAT) programme and the GOBARdhan National Circular Bioenergy Scheme. ORSL said these initiatives are expected to support further growth in its order pipeline.
Organic Recycling Systems Limited, listed on the BSE SME platform in 2023, is a CleanTech and decarbonisation company founded in 2008. The company has research partnerships with institutions including IIT Bombay and IIT Kharagpur and has said it plans to move to the BSE Main Board by October 2026.
