The United States exported 217.77 million gallons of ethanol and 1.03 million metric tons of distillers grains in March 2026, with both products recording gains over the previous month and the same period last year, according to data released by the United States Department of Agriculture Foreign Agricultural Service (USDA FAS), Ethanol Producer Magazine reported.
March ethanol exports were higher than the 209.87 million gallons shipped in February and marked a clear improvement over the 195.8 million gallons exported in March 2025. The US supplied ethanol to more than 40 countries during the month. Canada was the largest destination at 75.14 million gallons, followed by the Netherlands at 41.27 million gallons and the Philippines at 15.21 million gallons.
The value of US ethanol exports climbed to $488.08 million in March, up from $440.47 million in January and $421.66 million in March 2025. For the first quarter of 2026, total US ethanol exports reached 639.71 million gallons valued at $1.4 billion, compared with 532.6 million gallons worth $1.14 billion in the same period of 2025.
Distillers grains exports of 1.03 million metric tons in March were up from 919,855 metric tons in February and also edged higher compared with March of last year. The US shipped distillers grains to more than 30 countries during the month. Mexico led all destinations at 213,575 metric tons, followed by Indonesia at 163,702 metric tons and South Korea at 114,345 metric tons.
The value of distillers grains exports reached $253.05 million in March, up from $228.04 million in February, though marginally lower than the $253.53 million recorded in March 2025. For the first quarter of 2026, total distillers grains exports stood at 2.96 million metric tons valued at $729.93 million, against 2.69 million metric tons worth $655.07 million in the corresponding period of 2025.
