M11 Industries Private Limited, a subsidiary of M.K. Agrotech Private Limited, has started operations at its new biodiesel plant in Padubidri, Udupi district, Karnataka. This cutting-edge facility, established with an investment of ₹350 crore under the ‘Make in India’ initiative, is claimed to be the largest biodiesel plant in India.
The plant is set up to convert used cooking oil and other waste oils into biodiesel, with a daily production capacity of 450 tonnes. The biodiesel produced will be supplied to oil marketing companies to help reduce import dependency.
The plant was recently inaugurated by Karnataka Legislative Assembly Speaker U.T. Khader, with the presence of Yenepoya Group Chairman Yenepoya Abdulla Kunhi, P. Ujjwal from NMAM Institute of Technology’s Biotechnology Department, Desmet Ballestra Director N. Srinath Shetty, and M11 Industries Managing Director Subhan Khan.
M11 Director Hannan Khan stated, “Our aim in establishing this plant is to create a better environment by reducing emissions and preventing used cooking oil from re-entering the food chain. This initiative enhances health safety, energy security, climate change mitigation, and sustainable development through biodiesel production. By collecting used oil from various sources, we contribute to a greener environment and improve public health. M.K. Agrotech is proud of its 50-year legacy of ethical practices and remains dedicated to advancing our vision of a more sustainable and greener India.”
