Philippines: Park Inn by Radisson Bacolod expands green efforts with biodiesel project

Bacolod City: S M Hotels and Conventions Corp. is stepping up its sustainability efforts as its property, Park Inn by Radisson Bacolod, strengthens programs focused on recycling and community support.

Amid ongoing global fuel price uncertainty, the hotel has continued to promote eco-friendly practices, with its Biodiesel Project at the centre of these efforts. The initiative converts used cooking oil into fuel, Manila Times reported.

In its latest move, the hotel, in partnership with the office of Albee Benitez, donated 200 litres of biodiesel to residents of Brgy. Singcang. With this, the total fuel distributed under the project has reached 2,600 litres.

The project is part of a broader push by the company to adopt recycling-based systems and reduce waste.

The Bacolod City Government has also invited the hotel to present its initiatives at the Panaad sa Negros Festival this year. The programmes are being showcased at the city’s pavilion, highlighting reuse of materials and improved waste management methods.

Through these steps, the company aims to promote environmentally friendly practices in the hospitality sector while working closely with local communities.
