Ducati India on Sunday launched the XDiavel V4 sport cruiser motorcycle in the Indian market, powered by a 1,158 cc V4 Granturismo engine that produces 168 horsepower and 12.8 kgm of torque. The motorcycle is priced at Rs 30,88,700 for the Burning Red version and Rs 31,19,700 for the Black Lava version (ex-showroom), reports Autocar professional.
The XDiavel V4 is equipped with a counter-rotating crankshaft inspired by MotoGP technology, which helps reduce rotational forces and improves handling. The engine also features a cylinder deactivation system that shuts down the rear cylinders during low-speed riding and when the bike is stationary. Ducati has scheduled major maintenance for the motorcycle at intervals of 60,000 km.
With a kerb weight of 229 kg, the new model is 6 kg lighter than the earlier XDiavel 1260 S. Ducati said the motorcycle can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in under three seconds. Braking is handled by 330 mm discs paired with Brembo Stylema calipers, delivering a peak deceleration of 11.5 m/s².
Ducati India Managing Director Bipul Chandra said the XDiavel V4 reflects the company’s focus on advanced design and performance. He said the new model combines strong acceleration, improved agility and cruising comfort, while retaining the bold visual identity expected from the XDiavel range. He added that the single-sided swingarm and rear wheel design are among the standout styling elements of the motorcycle.
The motorcycle comes with a six-axis inertial measurement unit and a range of electronic rider aids, including cornering ABS, traction control, wheelie control, power launch and a quick-shift system. Riders can choose from three power settings and four riding modes — Sport, Touring, Urban and Wet.
The seat height of the XDiavel V4 is set at 770 mm. Ducati has increased rear suspension travel by 25 mm compared to the previous model. The passenger seat has also been redesigned, making it wider, longer and thicker for improved comfort.
The motorcycle features a 6.9-inch colour TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity for smartphone pairing. Optional turn-by-turn navigation is available through the Ducati Link app.
Design highlights include a single-sided aluminium swingarm, a wide 240-section rear tyre, and full LED lighting at the front and rear with distinctive daytime running lights and dynamic indicators. The fuel tank is offered in two metallic colour options — Burning Red and Black Lava.
Ducati said a range of touring and customisation accessories will be available through its Ducati Performance catalogue. These include panniers, a passenger backrest with integrated lighting, different windscreen options, comfort and lowered seats, exhaust upgrades, carbon components, forged wheels and coloured brake calipers.
The V4 Granturismo engine used in the XDiavel V4 is derived from the Desmosedici Stradale platform seen in Ducati’s Panigale V4 and Streetfighter V4 models. It delivers peak torque of 126 Nm at 7,500 rpm and maximum power at 10,750 rpm.
