JSW Energy reaches 20 GW locked-in capacity, secures 445 MW of C&I projects

JSW Energy has successfully secured multiple renewable energy (RE) projects within the Commercial and Industrial (C&I) power market, achieving a significant milestone with a total locked-in generation capacity of 20 GW. Of this, the company’s RE C&I capacity stands at 3.1 GW, which includes 2,654 MW from JSW Group’s captive capacity and 445 MW from third-party C&I capacity. Currently, JSW Energy’s operational C&I capacity is 488 MW.

In recent strategic developments, JSW Energy’s step-down subsidiaries have signed power purchase agreements (PPAs) with DCM Shriram Ltd and Indus Towers Ltd, marking further progress in the company’s renewable energy initiatives. These partnerships highlight the company’s commitment to providing sustainable energy solutions, contributing to the overall increase in its locked-in generation capacity to 20 GW.

JSW Energy’s Ambitious Growth Plans

JSW Energy is on track to achieve 10 GW of operational capacity by FY 2025, with 7.7 GW already in operation across thermal, hydro, and renewable energy sectors. The company also boasts 16.2 GWh of energy storage capacity through battery energy storage systems (BESS) and hydro pumped storage projects. Looking ahead, JSW Energy aims to reach 20 GW of generation capacity and 40 GWh of energy storage capacity by 2030. Additionally, the company has set an ambitious goal to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050.
