On Thursday, April 24, JSW MG Motor India announced that its flagship SUV, the Hector, India’s first Internet car, is now certified to run on E20 fuel, a blend of 20% ethanol and petrol. The E20-compatible Hector will be offered in the 1.5L Petrol MT and CVT variants. This development is in line with the Government of India’s directive requiring E20 compliance for all petrol vehicles manufactured after April 1, 2025.
According to an official release, all petrol variants of the Hector produced after March 31, 2025, will meet the E20 fuel standard. MG’s Astor model has already been E20-compliant since last year, underlining the brand’s ongoing commitment to environmentally responsible mobility solutions.
Commenting on the development, Rakesh Sen, Head of Sales at JSW MG Motor India, said, “The launch of the E20-compliant Hector reflects our unwavering focus on innovation and sustainability. Our goal is to deliver vehicles that not only meet customer needs but also contribute meaningfully to a greener automotive future.”
