EcoCeres delivers first vessel with 10 million litres of SAF to Evos Ghent terminal

EcoCeres Inc., a leading producer of renewable fuels, has delivered its first shipment of 10 million liters of sustainable blending component for jet fuel (neat HEFA-SPK) to the Evos Ghent terminal, marking the beginning of a new partnership between the two companies. This collaboration establishes Evos Ghent as EcoCeres’ first European storage partner, reported AirCargoWeek.

As per media report, Evos Ghent has a longstanding history in jet fuel storage and handling. Notably, on January 1, 2023, the terminal achieved a milestone by facilitating the first-ever delivery of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) via the NATO Central European Pipeline System (CEPS) to Brussels Airport. Leading the charge in SAF logistics, Evos is further enhancing its infrastructure in Ghent and Amsterdam to meet evolving blending requirements for aviation fuels. Ghent has become one of Europe’s largest and rapidly expanding SAF terminals.

EcoCeres is significantly contributing to the global energy transition by decarbonizing challenging industries, especially aviation, through innovative waste-to-SAF conversion technologies. This partnership integrates EcoCeres into the global logistics and supply chain for renewable fuels, supporting its continued expansion in Europe.

Harry Deans, CEO of Evos, commented: “We are excited to welcome EcoCeres, a pioneer in sustainable fuels, to our network. Storage and distribution are crucial components of the supply chain, and Evos is proud to collaborate with EcoCeres to advance the shift to lower-carbon aviation. This milestone for Evos Ghent represents a key step in the decarbonization of the aviation supply chain.”

James Ni, CEO of EcoCeres, added: “We are delighted to partner with Evos, a well-established entity with access to critical EU infrastructure. This collaboration enables the repurposing of existing facilities, creates green jobs, and provides our customers with a straightforward choice between fossil jet fuel and SAF, offering up to 90% emission reduction.”
