Bengaluru: Nayara Energy an integrated downstream energy and petrochemicals Company of international scale has commissioned its VGO-MHC (Vacuum Gasoil Mild Hydrocracker) Revamp Project at its Vadinar refinery, enabling 100% of its diesel production to continuously meet BS-VI standards. The upgrade strengthens the refinery’s ability to reliably produce cleaner fuels and support India’s growing energy requirements.
The project extends the unit’s operating cycle by more than 150%, enabling longer periods between planned shutdowns and greater continuity of fuel production and supply. It also improves efficiency and crude processing flexibility, raising the refinery’s Nelson Complexity Index to 12.6.
Commenting on the milestone, Sergey Denisov, Chief Development Officer, Nayara Energy said, “Despite a challenging global environment, the project was successfully commissioned through a more self-reliant execution approach. This included the installation of a 1,435-ton reactor in a live refinery environment, underscoring Nayara Energy’s ability to safely execute complex refinery upgrades at scale.”
These ongoing investments reinforce the Company’s role as a reliable partner in advancing India’s energy self-sufficiency, ensuring uninterrupted supply, and supporting the nation’s long-term growth and prosperity.
