Bajaj Auto showcases ethanol-powered Bajaj Pulsar NS160 Flex-Fuel

Bajaj Auto has unveiled the new ethanol-powered Pulsar NS160 flex-fuel motorcycle at the India Bio-Energy & Tech (IBET) Expo 2024. This model, which was first introduced at the Bharat Mobility Expo in January this year, is making a second appearance at the event. Rajiv Bajaj, Managing Director of Bajaj Auto, previously indicated that the company aims to launch its first flex-fuel bike by the end of the current financial year (FY2025), reported HT Auto.

As per media report, while Bajaj has not disclosed specific details about the Pulsar NS160 flex-fuel, it has been announced that the motorcycle operates on a blend of ethanol and gasoline. This approach offers customers flexible fuel options and contributes to reducing environmental impact. Flex-fuel engines are known for lowering carbon emissions, providing more sustainable transportation solutions, and decreasing fuel costs.

Bajaj Auto’s participation in the IBET Expo highlights its commitment to developing environmentally conscious mobility solutions. As global emphasis on reducing industrial emissions and environmental impact grows, Bajaj Auto is aligning its product innovations with greener, more sustainable transportation.

Flex-fuel powertrains also help decrease the country’s dependency on crude oil imports, thereby easing the financial burden on the state. Flex-fuel engines are widely used in Latin American countries for both four-wheelers and two-wheelers.

The Pulsar NS160 flex-fuel was showcased alongside the new Bajaj Freedom 125, which is the world’s first CNG-powered motorcycle. Both models are part of Bajaj’s clean mobility solutions initiative. The company is also offering the Chetak electric scooter and the Freedom 125 CNG under this initiative.
