Uttar Pradesh: Indian Oil’s second compressed biogas plant inaugurated by CM Yogi Adityanath

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurated Indian Oil Corporation Ltd’s second Compressed Biogas (CBG) facility in Gorakhpur on Tuesday. CEID Consultant and Engineering Pvt Ltd led the gas generation (EPCC 1) and gas purification (EPCC 4) aspects of the project, utilizing their MOPNG-approved CBG technology to promote clean energy solutions and environmental responsibility.

Through the utilization of agricultural waste, the plant is expected to produce a minimum of 20 tons of pure compressed Biogas (CBG) daily, significantly impacting waste management and reducing the carbon footprint associated with traditional farming methods. This initiative is in line with CEID’s commitment to sustainable energy and supports the Uttar Pradesh government’s efforts to encourage clean and renewable energy sources.

Prince Gandhi, Founder & CEO of CEID Consultant and Engineering Pvt Ltd, expressed his satisfaction with the project, highlighting the successful collaboration with IOCL. He emphasized the utilization of renewable resources such as paddy straws for clean energy generation. Additionally, Abhinav Govil, DGM Marketing at CEID, noted their pioneering role in sustainable energy solutions within the CBG sector, highlighting their dedication to utilizing agricultural waste, particularly paddy straw, to produce clean energy.

The plant, capable of harnessing 200 tons per day of agricultural waste, not only provides an eco-friendly waste management solution but also creates employment opportunities within the local community, with 120 individuals currently employed.
