China’s Envision deploys SAF certificates at Global Citizen NOW: Perth summit, representing 10 tonnes of CO₂ emissions reductions

Chinese green technology company Envision has taken its sustainable aviation fuel certificate (SAFc) solution to the international stage for the first time, deploying it at the Global Citizen NOW: Perth summit in Australia to address aviation-related emissions, The Manila Times reported.

As the event’s Sustainability Partner, Envision delivered environmental attributes equivalent to 10 tonnes of CO₂ emissions reductions. The reductions are linked to the actual production and use of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), with the corresponding certificates recorded and retired through a global registry to ensure transparency and traceability.

The initiative demonstrates how SAF certificates can help major international events account for emissions associated with air travel without requiring participants to use sustainable aviation fuel directly.

Envision’s Australian team also participated in discussions on clean energy investment and industrial decarbonisation, including a Capital Mobilization Roundtable and Masterclass. The engagements focused on Western Australia’s potential to attract investment in emerging green industries and accelerate its clean energy transition.

Co-hosted by Global Citizen and the Government of Western Australia ahead of COP31, the Perth summit brought together government representatives, businesses, investors, philanthropic organisations and First Nations communities to discuss clean energy access, climate resilience and inclusive economic development.

The initiative builds on Envision’s earlier SAFc deployment at the 26th China International Fair for Investment and Trade (CIFIT) in Xiamen in September, where the company used the mechanism to address aviation-related emissions from a major conference.

Envision said it plans to expand the application of green fuel solutions across aviation and international events while promoting collaboration across the sustainable fuel value chain. Bella Zhang, the company’s head of global SAF, said transparent and traceable management of environmental attributes would be important in supporting aviation’s transition towards lower-carbon fuels.

Beyond SAF, Envision is developing solutions across wind and solar power, energy storage, green molecules, net-zero industrial parks and green computing to help businesses reduce emissions across their operations and supply chains.
