Singapore: Odisha has signed four collaboration agreements with industry and academic partners to advance research in energy storage, smart grids, artificial intelligence and green hydrogen, Kalinga TV reported.
The agreements were concluded during Singapore International Energy Week, held from October 27 to 29, 2026, as part of the Asia Clean Energy Summit. Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore, will serve as the knowledge partner for the initiatives.
Odisha’s Energy Department signed the agreements in collaboration with NTU’s Energy Research Institute. The partnerships involve Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), VFlowTech, PHENOGY and Finland-based DANFOSS Drives Oy.
Under the agreement with TCS Singapore, the focus will be on developing digitalisation frameworks and artificial intelligence-based platforms for smart governance and consumer utility services.
The collaboration with VFlowTech will explore flow battery technologies to improve energy storage and strengthen grid resilience. The partnership with PHENOGY will focus on sodium-ion battery chemistry for grid-integrated, utility-scale battery energy storage systems.
The agreement with DANFOSS Drives Oy will cover research and engineering in green hydrogen production, next-generation microgrids and smart grid integration.
The agreements were signed by Dr Debidutta Tripathy, special secretary in Odisha’s Energy Department, and Prof. Madhavi Srinivasan, executive director of NTU’s Energy Research Institute, representing the respective organisations.
The Odisha delegation included GRIDCO Managing Director Dr Satya Priya Rath, GRIDCO Director (Commercial) Er. Debasish Das and IIT Bhubaneswar Dean of Postgraduate and Research Studies Prof. Subhransu Ranjan Samantaray.
