Biofuels Partners, Jianglan Bio-Energy join hands to explore UCO, HVO and SAF opportunities

Biofuels Partners (BFP) has signed a collaboration agreement with China-based Jianglan Bio-Energy to explore business opportunities across the used cooking oil (UCO), hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO) and sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) value chains, reported Biofuel International Magazine.

The agreement will cover potential cooperation in UCO supply, HVO and SAF offtake, and broader commercial partnerships. BFP will contribute its expertise in feedstock sourcing, strategic advisory, sustainability certification and market development.

Jianglan Bio-Energy has an integrated business model spanning UCO collection, feedstock pretreatment and renewable fuel production. Its ongoing developments include a UCO pretreatment facility with an annual capacity of 300,000 tonnes and a new HVO-SAF plant of the same capacity. The facility uses European Desmet pretreatment technology and Topsoe’s HydroFlex processing technology.

The partnership was reinforced during the Global SAF Market & Sustainability Certification Summit in Zhoushan, China, where BFP representatives met Jianglan’s leadership and visited its new HVO-SAF facility.

Both companies said their cooperation would be guided by transparent feedstock sourcing, documented origins, chain-of-custody controls and independently verified sustainability credentials. The agreement comes amid growing emphasis on traceability and accountability in the global renewable fuels supply chain.
