Vihaan Clean & Green Tech launches biomass boiler plant in Gujarat

Vihaan Clean & Green Tech Pvt. Ltd. has commissioned a biomass-based boiler plant in Gujarat under its Phase 2 expansion, a move aimed at cutting carbon emissions, reducing reliance on fossil fuels and strengthening rural supply chains, Solar Quarter reported.

The company said the new facility will run entirely on biomass fuel and is expected to cut around 81,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions each year. The move is part of its broader effort to reduce dependence on fossil fuels and expand the use of biomass-based energy across its operations.

The project also focuses on strengthening the use of agricultural residue as fuel, helping convert farm waste into energy while ensuring a steady supply for industrial use. This approach is expected to support a more stable and sustainable energy system, especially at a time of global supply disruptions.

Vihaan is working with HyFun Foods to support rural supply chains, with the initiative also aimed at creating opportunities for farmers and promoting local sourcing of biomass.

To improve efficiency, the company has partnered with technology providers Thermax and TOESL to integrate advanced systems into the plant.

Amit Badlani said the project reflects the company’s focus on building reliable and sustainable industrial systems. He added that such models could be expanded across other industrial regions in the country.

The initiative also supports the government’s push for greater self-reliance by reducing dependence on imported fuels and increasing the use of locally available energy resources.
