Neste extends partnership with World Fuel Services to expand SAF availability across Europe

Neste and World Fuel Services have extended their existing relationship through a five-year agreement that will expand the availability of Neste-supplied sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) at more than 100 airports across World Fuel’s UK and European network, the company said in a press release.

The extended agreement will support World Fuel’s ability to secure SAF supplies and comply with regulatory requirements, including the ReFuelEU Aviation Regulation and the UK SAF mandate. Through World Fuel’s European network, SAF will be made available to commercial, business and general aviation customers, ensuring a reliable and consistent supply.

The agreement builds on a long-standing collaboration between the two companies, combining World Fuel’s established aviation fuel distribution and infrastructure capabilities with Neste’s SAF production and supply expertise. This includes Neste’s renewable fuels refinery in Rotterdam, which is currently capable of producing up to 500,000 tonnes of SAF annually.

“By combining our extensive European network with Neste’s growing SAF production, we are strengthening the supply foundation our customers rely on as regulatory requirements accelerate across the region. This agreement enhances our ability to deliver consistent and scalable access to SAF where it is needed most,” said Duncan Storey, Senior Vice President, EMEA, at World Fuel Services.

“We are pleased to extend our relationship with World Fuel Services. Collaborations such as these are critical in supporting the aviation industry’s efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and meet SAF mandates, including the ReFuelEU Aviation Regulation. As Neste scales up its SAF production capacity from 1.5 million to 2.2 million tonnes per year by 2027, leveraging World Fuel’s extensive European airport network will further increase the availability and flexibility of SAF supply for airlines,” said Carl Nyberg, Senior Vice President, Commercial, Renewable Products at Neste.
