Betia: A biogas plant costing around Rs 60 crore is being developed at Kumarbagh and is now in the final stage of production readiness. Once operational, the plant is expected to produce 6,000 kg of biogas daily along with about 40 tonnes of phosphate-rich organic manure every day, reports Live Hindustan.
The project is being set up by Vardhan Business Associate Private Limited. About 70,000 square feet of land has been approved for the plant, and installation of machinery is progressing at a fast pace. The biogas and organic manure produced at the facility will be easily available to local farmers as well as other interested users.
General Manager of the Industries Department, Rohit Raj, said that both products will also be supplied outside the area. He added that the plant is expected to generate employment for around 200 people.
Officials said the Kumarbagh biogas plant will receive all benefits under the State Investment Promotion Board (SIPB), a Bihar government body responsible for accepting, evaluating and approving investment proposals in the state. The project is expected to create large-scale employment opportunities for local residents.
The Industries Department’s General Manager recently inspected the site and issued necessary instructions. Earlier, the department’s secretary had also reviewed the progress of the work.
