Cambodia’s Pursat province is set to develop an integrated green energy and agricultural processing project after the provincial administration signed a land lease agreement with KPS Energy (Cambodia) Co., Ltd. on August 21, 2026, Construction Property reported.
The agreement, presided over by Pursat Provincial Governor Khoy Rida, covers 5,000 hectares of land for the planned construction of power generation facilities and industrial processing plants.
Khoy Rida said the project could become an important driver of economic development in the province by creating thousands of jobs, helping local workers gain advanced technical skills and strengthening Pursat’s industrial base.
He described the land agreement as an important step in linking the province’s natural resources with industrial production and clean energy development.
The project will focus on three main areas. In clean energy, KPS Energy will set up a 50 megawatt biomass power plant and a 40 megawatt solar power plant, with the aim of supporting Cambodia’s move towards greater use of clean energy.
The development will also include a fertiliser manufacturing plant and a kimchi processing facility. These plants are expected to add value to agricultural produce from the region.
The third part of the project will focus on environmental protection through planned tree planting and conservation of natural resources, with the objective of supporting long term environmental sustainability.
