DS Dansuk has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) worth1.09 trillion won with the Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province and the Jeonbuk Provincial Government to develop a carbon-neutral industrial complex in Gunsan, reports Chosun Biz.
The complex will be built with the goal of achieving carbon neutrality and will include eco-friendly production systems, energy recovery units, and recycling infrastructure. The agreement outlines plans to establish facilities for producing biodiesel, bio-jet fuel, and bio-naphtha using hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO) by the year 2031. The facilities will occupy a 70,000-pyeong site within the Gunsan National Industrial Complex.
The signing ceremony brought together key stakeholders, including DS Dansuk Chairman Han Seung-wook, CEO Kim Jong-wan, Jeonbuk Governor Kim Kwan-young, Gunsan Mayor Gang Im-jun, and Moon Moon-cheol, head of the Korea Industrial Complex Corporation’s Jeonbuk branch.
Speaking at the event, Chairman Han said he was glad to work with Jeonbuk Province on this major step forward for the company. “We look forward to continued cooperation and further discussions on future joint initiatives,” he said.
