Rajasthan: Bhilwara to see new ethanol plant

An investment summit as part of the “Rising Rajasthan” initiative is set to take place in Bhilwara, where a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) will be signed to establish an ethanol plant. The proposed facility, with an investment of around ₹150 crore, is intended to be situated along Shahpura Road, although land acquisition is still ongoing. The plant will use maize and broken rice as feedstock and is expected to generate approximately 300 jobs.

This plant will facilitate the local use of maize produced in Bhilwara district. Mukesh Laddha from Bhilwara is leading the project, aiming to set up the facility along the Bhilwara-Shahpura road.

According to a report by Rajasthan Patrika, Murali Eenani, President of the Food Grain Trade Association, noted that maize grown in Bhilwara, Shahpura, Chittorgarh, and Nimbahera is currently being sent to Gujarat, Haryana, and Punjab. Most of this maize is utilized for animal feed and poultry farming, while some is purchased by liquor manufacturers. The establishment of the ethanol plant in Bhilwara would enhance local maize utilization.
