Mobius Renewables acquires Air Liquide’s biogas assets across US and Europe

Houston-based Mobius Renewables has completed the acquisition of biogas production assets from Air Liquide across the United States and Europe, marking a major step in expanding its renewable natural gas (RNG) footprint.

The deal includes six landfill gas-to-RNG facilities in the United States and five farm waste-based plants in France. It also covers a 51% stake in Redo Biosolutions, which operates production and distribution assets in Norway and Sweden. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed, Renewables Now reported.

Air Liquide said the sale aligns with its strategy to actively manage its portfolio and create value through selective divestments.

Mobius Renewables was established in December 2025 by funds managed by IFM Investors to scale up RNG production and commercialisation. Following the acquisition, the newly acquired assets, along with GreenGasUSA, will operate under the Mobius Renewables brand. However, Redo Biosolutions will continue to function under its existing name.

With the addition of these assets, Mobius Renewables said it now has the capacity to produce and distribute more than 5.5 million MMBtu of RNG annually, sourced from landfill gas and anaerobic digestion.

The company added that it will now focus on improving operations and pursuing further expansion through organic growth and targeted acquisitions.
