The European Biodiesel Board (EBB) has sent letter to the European Commission concerning the influx of Chinese biodiesel into the European market.
The recipients of the letter include Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, Executive Vice-President Valdis Dombrovskis, Commissioner Kadri Simson, Commissioner Thierry Breton, Commissioner Janusz Wojciechowski, and Commissioner Adina Vălean.
Xavier Noyon, the Secretary General of the European Biodiesel Board, emphasized the pressing need for action, stating, “We’ve directed this communication to various Cabinets and Directorate Generals within the European Commission because immediate steps are necessary. Regardless of European elections, Chinese biodiesel continues to inundate our markets. Waiting is not an option; we must decisively counter the Chinese government’s efforts to undermine the EU’s renewable industrial sector.”
Noyon continued, “The European biodiesel industry urges the prompt registration of imports from China, coupled with the imposition of substantial provisional duties, as permitted under anti-dumping regulations.”
