American Biogas Council members elect new board, adding a renewable natural gas champion from NW Natural

The American Biogas Council (ABC) has announced the results of its annual board election, welcoming Richard Cooper, Vice President of Business Development at NW Natural Renewables, as the newest member. Cooper’s addition brings the number of board members affiliated with U.S. natural gas utilities to five, reflecting the growing collaboration between the biogas and natural gas sectors.

In addition to Cooper’s election, six existing board members were re-elected, ensuring continuity in the council’s leadership.

Commenting on the election results, ABC Executive Director Patrick Serfass said, “As the American Biogas Council grows to serve a growing industry, we’re pleased that our membership has again voted in an extremely talented group from companies that help ensure our leadership represents the entire biogas supply chain. Together, we will lead the way to a better future by maximizing all the positive environmental and economic impacts biogas systems offer when they recycle organic material into renewable energy and soil products.”

The new and returning board members will play a crucial role in advancing the biogas industry, which continues to expand as a key component of sustainable energy and waste management solutions.
