Strategic Interventions for Green Hydrogen Transition scheme: Adani, Avaada, and Waaree among 13 winners of incentive boost

Adani Enterprises, Waaree Energies, Ohmium Operations, and Avaada Electrolysers are among the 13 companies selected to receive incentives under the second tranche of the Strategic Interventions for Green Hydrogen Transition (SIGHT) scheme, which supports the manufacturing of electrolysers in India, reported The Economic Times citing sources.

“Thirteen companies have been shortlisted to receive subsidies under the second tranche of the SIGHT scheme,” one of the sources confirmed to ET.

SIGHT is a financial initiative under the National Green Hydrogen Mission, with a total budget of ₹17,490 crore allocated for the manufacturing of electrolysers and the production of green hydrogen. The budget for the second tranche is set at ₹2,200 crore.

The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) received bids from 23 companies for a total capacity of 2,847 MW, surpassing the offered capacity of 1,500 MW in various technology categories. According to an SECI official, which acts as the nodal agency for the tender, the results of the financial bids are still subject to revision.

The financial bids, invited in May, were categorized into three groups: any stack technology (bucket 1), indigenously developed stack technology (bucket 2A), and indigenously developed stack technology for smaller units (bucket 2B).
