New Delhi: Bessco Power Pvt. Ltd. and Renergo Developers Pvt. Ltd. have joined hands to develop renewable energy projects with a total capacity of 1,000 MW across India and Nepal over the next 18 to 24 months, according to a report by Press Trust of India.

Under the partnership, the companies will mainly set up large solar power projects. At the same time, they are also looking at opportunities in compressed biogas, green hydrogen and green ammonia as part of their plans to expand clean energy projects in the region.

Founder and chairman of Bessco Power Rajeev Chhikara said the collaboration is aimed at building large renewable energy capacity in South Asia. He said the partnership will combine the strengths of both companies to help speed up the development of new projects in the two countries.

Co-founder of Renergo Developers Nishant Goyal said the two countries offer strong potential for renewable energy growth and the partnership will help develop projects on a larger scale.

Managing director of Bessco Power Bharat Gulati said the initiative is part of efforts to build a strong renewable energy platform that will not only add solar power capacity but also support the shift towards cleaner energy sources such as green hydrogen, compressed biogas and green ammonia.

Co-founder of Renergo Developers Mayank Rohilla said the joint venture also plans to build a mix of projects in emerging energy areas, including hydrogen, ammonia and bioenergy.
