Taihei Dengyo Kaisha Ltd (TYO:1968) has approved plans to build a 1.99-megawatt biomass power plant in Murakami City, Niigata Prefecture, reports Renewables Now.
The company said construction is expected to start around March 2026, with operations scheduled to begin by the end of 2027. The project will require an investment of about JPY 3 billion (USD 20.27 million/EUR 17.33 million).
The plant, which will be operated by Taihei Dengyo’s wholly owned subsidiary Murakami Green Power LLC, is designed to generate roughly 13,000 megawatt-hours of electricity each year. It will run on woody biomass as its fuel source.
Taihei Dengyo said the new facility builds on its partnership with Murakami City aimed at promoting sustainable community development.
