Coca-Cola’s bottling partners Bolster India’s logistics network with Fleet, EV expansion, and welfare push

Coca-Cola, in collaboration with its bottling partners, is transforming the landscape of green logistics by expanding one of India’s largest truck fleets, now comprising over 5,000 electric vehicles (EVs) across the country. This strategic initiative not only supports nationwide beverage distribution but also promotes job creation and reflects the company’s commitment to operational efficiency and social responsibility.

Expanding Reach, Empowering Workforce

Each day, Coca-Cola’s products travel hundreds of kilometers to reach consumers in both urban centers and remote rural areas. This extensive distribution system is supported by thousands of truck drivers, whose critical role ensures timely delivery across the country. The fleet expansion is directly contributing to stable employment, reinforcing Coca-Cola’s role as a vital player in India’s supply chain and logistics sector.

Bottling Partners Drive Innovation and Scale

Coca-Cola’s bottling partners are key to the success of this growing logistics network. Superior Drinks Pvt. Ltd. has added nearly 200 modern trucks and EVs to its fleet this year, significantly boosting its delivery capacity and efficiency. Similarly, SLMG Beverages has enhanced its last-mile delivery operations by integrating over 3,000 EVs into its fleet over the past three years. Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages (HCCB) has also strengthened its operations, deploying around 500 EVs across 10 states to enhance regional delivery and logistics performance. These collective efforts are set to expand even further in the coming years.

Prioritizing Driver Wellbeing and Road Safety

Beyond fleet growth, Coca-Cola places strong emphasis on the safety and welfare of its drivers. The company runs a comprehensive welfare program that includes annual road safety training tailored to India’s diverse driving environments, routine health and vision checks, and wellness sessions focusing on safety and stress management. Additionally, vehicles undergo regular assessments to ensure operational standards are met. These initiatives aim to enhance driver health, safety, and job satisfaction while reducing risks on the road.

Leadership Perspectives on Growth and Responsibility

Sundeep Bajoria, Vice President at Coca-Cola India, noted, “India’s logistics ecosystem is evolving, and so are we—responsibly. Our trucking network is a powerful engine of opportunity and progress, supporting livelihoods across states, energizing micro-economies at transport hubs, and ensuring our beverages reach every corner of the country. As we scale operations, we remain deeply committed to supporting the people behind this network through safety and skill development.”

Vinay Nair, Chief Commercial Officer at HCCB, added, “We continuously adapt to meet India’s dynamic beverage market. Our fleet expansion enhances last-mile delivery and reflects our dedication to agile, tech-driven supply chain solutions that benefit retailers and local economies alike.”

Ashish Sethi, CEO of Superior Drinks Pvt. Ltd., emphasized, “Operational precision and readiness are at the heart of our strategy. With this fleet expansion, we’re delivering unmatched speed, scale, and reliability to meet the demands of one of the world’s most complex supply chains.”

Rahul Kumar, Deputy CEO at SLMG Beverages, stated, “Our deliberate focus on EV fleet expansion improves delivery efficiency and supports the Coca-Cola system’s growth, particularly in rural markets, while optimizing cost-to-serve.”

A Journey of Refreshment and Opportunity

As Coca-Cola products make their way across India, each delivery not only quenches consumer thirst but also represents economic opportunity, job creation, and community development. Through an expanding, well-supported driver network and a growing fleet of eco-friendly vehicles, Coca-Cola is making a lasting impact on India’s logistics, employment, and sustainability landscapes.
