Unity Foods Limited has made significant strides in securing long-term contracts to export sustainable and traceable biofuel feedstock to global biofuel producers, including those focusing on Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF). This move positions the company to meet the increasing global demand for eco-friendly fuel alternatives, reported Pakistani media Profit.
As per the media report, the company has earned the International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC-EU), a key certification that enables the export of biofuel feedstock to international markets. Furthermore, Unity Foods has successfully completed sample shipments to potential long-term buyers, which have been met with positive feedback.
Biofuel feedstock consists of organic materials used to produce biofuels such as biodiesel, ethanol, and SAF. These feedstocks are typically sourced from agricultural by-products, waste oils, or specially cultivated crops. Sustainable feedstocks are renewable, low in carbon emissions, and traceable, ensuring environmental and social compliance.
This initiative is part of Unity Foods’ broader strategy to diversify its revenue streams. The finalized contracts are expected to boost the company’s exports to the European Union and Far Eastern markets, further driving its growth.
