Romania’s largest chemical group to modernize biomass operations

Chimcomplex, Romania’s leading chemical group, intends to enhance its energy capabilities at the A6 Dej platform by extensively modernizing an existing power plant that currently runs on biomass.

Upon completion of the upgrade, the plant aims to produce up to 80 MW of electric and thermal energy, which will be utilized within a new chemical processing facility.
Chimcomplex recently inaugurated the largest cogeneration plant constructed in Romania in the past 11 years, boasting a capacity of 49.6 MW. Notably, it represents the first Trigeneration plant built in Europe.

The Energy Division’s Masterplan at Chimcomplex encompasses investments geared towards ensuring sufficient energy production to safeguard both the Group and the surrounding communities, as per the organization’s statement.
