WASHINGTON: U.S. fuel ethanol production declined by nearly 5% in the week ended July 10, while inventories rose and exports fell sharply, according to the latest data released by the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA).
Average ethanol production fell to 1.04 million barrels per day during the week, down from 1.093 million barrels per day in the previous week. Output was also 47,000 barrels per day lower than the corresponding week a year earlier.
At the same time, fuel ethanol stocks increased to 24.391 million barrels, compared with 23.928 million barrels a week earlier. Inventories were 756,000 barrels higher than the same period last year.
Exports recorded the steepest weekly decline, falling to 81,000 barrels per day from 200,000 barrels per day in the previous week, a drop of nearly 60%. Compared with the same week in 2025, exports were down by 13,000 barrels per day.
The EIA said the United States did not import any fuel ethanol during the week ended July 10.
