At a meeting on October 3, 2024, the Board of Directors of BCL Industries Limited approved the acquisition of M/s. Goyal Distillery Private Ltd.
The company announced that it is in process to acquire Goyal Distillery, situated in Fatehabad, Haryana, which already has the required land and permissions to set up a 250 KLPD grain-based ethanol facility.
This strategic acquisition is expected to enhance BCL’s production capabilities by establishing a 250 KLPD grain-based ethanol plant and a power plant that will use paddy straw as its main fuel. The distillery can be operational in about half the usual time, as all necessary clearances are already secured. Consequently, BCL’s total distillery capacity will rise from 700 KLPD to 1,100 KLPD, with an increase of 150 KLPD at its Bathinda unit and 250 KLPD at the newly acquired Fatehabad unit.
This acquisition is anticipated to significantly strengthen BCL’s position as a leader in the grain-based ethanol sector in India. Following the acquisition, Goyal Distillery will become a wholly owned subsidiary of BCL Industries Ltd.
Additionally, the company plans to develop a biogas plant with a capacity of approximately 20 MTPD on a nearby 9-acre plot that is being acquired for this purpose. This biogas facility will process around 250 MT of paddy straw daily, further emphasizing BCL’s commitment to sustainable energy solutions.
The total capital expenditure for establishing both the distillery and the biogas plant in Fatehabad is projected to be around Rs. 350 crore, with an estimated timeline of 20 months from the start of construction.
