Coal India commissions 200 MW solar capacity at 300 MW Khavda project

Coal India Limited has received the commissioning certificate for 200 MW of solar power capacity out of its 300 MW solar power project at Khavda, Gujarat, the company said in a regulatory filing.

The certificate, dated July 15, 2026, was issued by the Gujarat Energy Development Agency (GEDA), according to the filing. The disclosure was made to the Bombay Stock Exchange and the National Stock Exchange of India under Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015.

The filing was signed by B. P. Dubey, Executive Director (Company Secretary) and Compliance Officer of Coal India Limited.

The commissioning marks a step toward completion of the full 300 MW solar project at Khavda, with the remaining 100 MW capacity yet to be commissioned. The move is part of Coal India’s broader push to diversify into renewable energy as it works to reduce its carbon footprint alongside its core coal mining operations.

Coal India Limited, a Maharatna company, is listed on the BSE under scrip code 533278 and on the NSE with ISIN INE522F01014, with its registered office in Kolkata.
