Bain & Company announced as knowledge partner with World Green Economy Organization (WGEO) at COP29

Bain & Company, a global leader in management consulting, is excited to announce its partnership with the World Green Economy Organization (WGEO) as a knowledge partner for COP29, taking place in Baku, Azerbaijan, from November 11 to November 22, 2024. This collaboration highlights the commitment of both organizations to advancing sustainable development and promoting green economic practices globally.

During the conference, Bain & Company will host and facilitate two panel discussions at the WGEO Blue Zone Pavilion. The topics will be “Materiality as a Lever to Accelerate Sustainability” and “Circular Transformation of Industries.” These panels will delve into innovative sustainability strategies, emphasizing the importance of transparency and accountability as well as approaches to circularity that are vital for enhancing economic and environmental resilience.

Wissam Yassine, a Partner at Bain & Company, noted, “A key theme at COP28 in Dubai was moving from ambition to action. We believe it is just as important to transition from action to accountability. By focusing on material issues relevant to businesses and disclosing performance in these areas, we can drive sustainability transformation. Our panel at the WGEO Blue Zone will highlight key insights from our work with leading companies in the MENA region.”

Jenny Davis-Peccoud, Founder of Bain & Company’s Global Sustainability & Responsibility Practice, emphasized, “Adopting circularity in industries not only reduces environmental impact but also boosts economic efficiency and drives business growth. At COP29, our panel will illustrate how circular economy models can create lasting value and support a sustainable future.”

The partnership between Bain & Company and WGEO at COP29 is part of a larger initiative to embed sustainability into business strategies and operations, reflecting both organizations’ commitment to fostering positive global change.
