The UAE’s Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure (MoEI) and Uruguay’s Ministry of Industry, Energy, and Mining have officially signed a Memorandum of Cooperation during the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week 2025.
The memorandum was signed by Nawal Al Hanaee, Director of the Future Energy Department at MoEI, and Christian Nieves Lauz, National Energy Director of Uruguay’s Ministry of Industry, Energy, and Mining. The agreement outlines a framework for sharing knowledge and expertise, hosting high-level discussions, and organizing workshops focused on energy-related matters.
Al Hanaee highlighted that such collaborations are vital in driving the global transition to clean and renewable energy. She noted that the partnership will play a significant role in broadening opportunities for growth and development, particularly as both nations work to diversify their energy mix and expand reliance on clean energy sources.
This agreement, according to Al Hanaee, underscores the shared commitment of both countries to build strategic partnerships and enhance key sectors like clean energy and climate action.
