At the Odisha Solar Investor Conclave in Bhubaneswar, Pradip Kumar Das, Chairman and Managing Director of the Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Limited (IREDA), announced that IREDA has approved funding of over Rs. 3,000 crore for various green energy projects across Odisha. These projects will span sectors such as ethanol, solar, hydro, and renewable energy manufacturing.
Das delivered a special address at the Conclave, which was organized by GRIDCO in Bhubaneswar.
The CMD of IREDA reaffirmed the agency’s support for Odisha’s ambitious renewable energy goals, with the state aiming to achieve a 10 GW capacity by 2030. He highlighted that IREDA has already sanctioned over Rs. 3,000 crore for green energy initiatives in the state, covering sectors like solar, hydro, ethanol, and renewable energy manufacturing.
Das also emphasized Odisha’s potential to become a major player in solar power production and a key hub for solar equipment manufacturing. Reflecting on IREDA’s national impact, he noted that the agency has sanctioned over Rs. 2.08 lakh crore and disbursed Rs. 1.36 lakh crore towards renewable energy projects, positioning itself as a key enabler of emerging renewable energy technologies such as ethanol, EV fleet financing, pumped storage hydropower, and green ammonia.
The CMD further reiterated IREDA’s dedication to advancing India’s green energy objectives, aiming for a 10-15% share in renewable energy debt financing.
