EIA: Ethanol production see slight increase

U.S. fuel ethanol production saw a slight increase for the week ending October 11, as reported by the U.S. Energy Information Administration on October 17. Ethanol stocks rose by less than 1%, while exports decreased by nearly 1%.

During the week ending October 11, production averaged 1.042 million barrels per day, an increase of 4,000 barrels per day compared to the previous week’s production of 1.038 million barrels per day. Year-over-year, production was up by 7,000 barrels per day compared to the same week last year.

Fuel ethanol stocks rose to 22.275 million barrels for the week ending October 11, an increase of 121,000 barrels from the 22.154 million barrels reported the previous week. Compared to the same week last year, stocks increased by 1.163 million barrels.

Exports of fuel ethanol averaged 140,000 barrels per day for the week ending October 11, down 1,000 barrels per day from the prior week’s 141,000 barrels per day. However, this figure is up by 28,000 barrels per day compared to the same week last year. There were no reported imports of fuel ethanol for the week ending October 11.
