Advait Greenergy Pvt. Ltd. (AGPL), a subsidiary of Advait Energy Transitions, and its technology partner Jiangsu Guofu Hydrogen Energy Equipment (GUOFUHEE) have completed a live Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) and technical demonstration of a 1,000 Nm³/h (around 5 MW) pressurised alkaline water electrolysis hydrogen generation system in China.
The demonstration was held on June 29–30 at GUOFUHEE’s manufacturing facility in Zhangjiagang, giving customers and industry stakeholders an opportunity to assess the electrolyser’s performance under industrial operating conditions before deployment, Energetica India reported.
The event is part of the collaboration between AGPL and GUOFUHEE to combine global hydrogen technology with Indian manufacturing, engineering and EPC capabilities in support of the National Green Hydrogen Mission.
During the demonstration, participants observed key operational parameters including cold start, hot restart, hot standby, dynamic load response, load regulation, hydrogen purity, operating pressure and specific energy consumption. The exercise also enabled technical discussions between customers and engineering teams on the performance of industrial-scale hydrogen production systems.
More than 70 organisations from the green hydrogen ecosystem participated in the event through physical and virtual sessions. The attendees included renewable energy developers, EPC contractors, industrial hydrogen users, consultants, utilities and public sector companies such as ReNew, AM Green, Greenko, Sembcorp Green Hydrogen India, Hygenco, Torrent Power, ONGC, BPCL, HPCL, NTPC Group, port authorities and industrial offtakers.
Rutvi Sheth, Director of Advait Greenergy, said the demonstration was intended to give customers an opportunity to evaluate electrolyser technology under real-world operating conditions while showcasing the integration of proven global technology with local engineering and manufacturing capabilities.
Advait Greenergy has established a 30 MW alkaline electrolyser assembly facility at Kadi in Gujarat and plans to expand its manufacturing capacity to 300 MW and eventually 1 GW. The company provides integrated green hydrogen solutions, including electrolyser manufacturing, engineering, EPC services, balance of plant systems, hydrogen storage, compression and associated infrastructure.
The partnership aims to support domestic manufacturing of advanced electrolyser technology, facilitate technology transfer and develop integrated hydrogen infrastructure for sectors such as refineries, fertilisers, steel, chemicals, mobility and other hard-to-abate industries. The companies said the collaboration is expected to contribute to the development of India’s green hydrogen value chain and support the country’s long-term decarbonisation goals.
