Websol Energy names Vinay Vyas CEO of subsidiary Websol Renewables

Websol Energy System Limited has announced that Vinay Vyas has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of its wholly owned subsidiary, Websol Renewables Private Limited. The appointment took effect on October 21, 2026, on a full-time basis.

The board of Websol Renewables approved the appointment, the company said in a filing with BSE and the National Stock Exchange (NSE) under Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015.

According to the company, Vyas has more than 18 years of experience in renewable energy and energy storage. He has worked on a clean energy portfolio of more than 8 GW, which the company valued at Rs 24,000 crore. The company said he led the development at ACME Cleantech of what has been described as the world’s first integrated green hydrogen and ammonia project.

His earlier roles include Chief Executive Officer of FusionX Energy, where the company said he secured an energy trading licence from the Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC). He was also Group Lead (Vice President) for renewable power, battery energy storage and green hydrogen at Welspun Group, and Director of the Global Renewable Energy Center at Canadian Solar. In 2025, he chaired the Energy Storage Committee of the National Solar Energy Federation of India (NSEFI).

Sohan Lal Agarwal, Chairman and Managing Director, Websol Energy System Limited, said Vyas’s record of building renewable businesses at scale would be valuable as the company expands further along the solar value chain. He added that the company looked forward to Vyas’s contribution to creating long-term value for stakeholders.

Vyas said joining Websol Renewables was a great opportunity. He said he saw a clear opportunity to build the business at scale with the wider team.

According to the company, Websol crossed Rs 1,000 crore in revenue in FY26. It plans to raise its manufacturing capacity to 5,350 MW of solar cells and 4,550 MW of modules by 2028. The company said Websol Renewables takes its presence further along the solar value chain, and that Vyas’s experience in module manufacturing strategy, energy storage and energy trading is relevant to this phase.

Websol operates an integrated plant at the Falta Special Economic Zone in West Bengal, with a cell capacity of 1,200 MW and a module capacity of 550 MW.
