Nellore: Two proposed ethanol projects in Kodavalur mandal of Andhra Pradesh have received environmental clearance, opening the way for fresh investment in the biofuel sector, according to a report.
The State Environment Impact Assessment Authority (SEIAA), State Environment Impact Assessment Authority, Andhra Pradesh, granted approval to Gayathri Renewable Fuels and Allied Industries Pvt. Ltd. The clearance, issued under the Union Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, allows the company to set up a grain-based ethanol plant with a capacity of 200 kilo litres per day along with a 6 MW cogeneration power unit at the IFFCO Kisan Special Economic Zone in Racharlapadu village.
Company director Srisai Jabbala said the clearance document has been uploaded on the PARIVESH portal and is available for public access. He added that the company will follow all environmental norms and maintain sustainable practices.
In another development, Ramshy Bio Pvt. Ltd. also received environmental approval from SEIAA for its project in the same area. Company director K. Sandeep Kumar said the plan includes a 370 kilo litres per day grain-based ethanol plant and a 7.25 MW cogeneration power facility at IFFCO Nellore in Racharlapadu village under Regadichelika Gram Panchayat.
Kumar said the approval document is also available on the PARIVESH portal. He stated that the company will comply with all environmental regulations while contributing to the growth of biofuel production in Andhra Pradesh.
