LNK Energy launched as next-generation integrated clean energy platform with an initial Rs 10,000 crore investment plan

LNK Energy has announced its entry into India’s clean energy sector with a planned investment of ₹10,000 crore over the next five years. Positioned as an integrated clean energy platform, the company will operate across advanced manufacturing, green fuels and renewable energy generation.

As its first major project, NK Energy will set up a 6 GW solar cell and module manufacturing facility with integrated ingot and wafer production at Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar in Maharashtra. Spread across more than 60 acres, the project will manufacture high-efficiency solar cells and modules using advanced technologies and global best practices. The company has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Maharashtra government for the development of the facility.

NK Energy has been co-founded by Paritosh Ladhani, Joint Managing Director of SLMG Beverages, India’s largest Coca-Cola bottler; Dr Kushagra Nandan, Co-Founder, Chairman and Managing Director of REnergy Dynamics (RED) and former Co-Founder and MD of SunSource Energy; and Varun Karad, bioenergy entrepreneur and Co-Founder and CEO of RED. The founders said the company aims to support sustainable growth, responsible industrial development and long-term energy security for India.

The company’s strategy focuses on end-to-end participation across the energy value chain, adoption of future-ready technologies, disciplined long-term capital deployment and alignment with India’s clean energy and manufacturing goals.

In addition to solar manufacturing, NK Energy plans to gradually expand into the production of related components such as junction boxes, battery platforms and energy storage systems, strengthening the domestic clean energy ecosystem. Following the establishment of its manufacturing base, the company will move into green fuels, with a particular emphasis on green hydrogen to help decarbonise hard-to-abate sectors through scalable, technology-driven solutions.

Alongside manufacturing and green fuels, NK Energy will also develop a renewable power generation portfolio as an independent power producer, as well as through hybrid open-access models integrating solar, storage and other renewable sources. This approach is aimed at building a fully integrated platform covering manufacturing, fuels and operating energy assets.

Commenting on the launch, Paritosh Ladhani said the company brings decades of experience in building large-scale manufacturing and supply-chain businesses, with a strong emphasis on scale, quality and execution discipline aligned to global standards.

Dr Kushagra Nandan said NK Energy has been envisioned as a long-term institution at a time when energy security, industrial self-reliance and decarbonisation are national priorities, with a focus on combining scale, technological depth and capital discipline for sustained value creation.

Varun Karad added that the future of energy lies in integration across manufacturing, green fuels and renewable power, and that NK Energy has been structured to address this convergence by deploying advanced technologies to deliver reliable, scalable and sustainable energy solutions.
