Chhattisgarh: RSLD Biofuels to invest Rs 200 crore for ethanol plant

The Government of Chhattisgarh organized an Investor Connect Meet in New Delhi yesterday to highlight investment opportunities in tourism and hospitality, steel and industrial projects, biofuel, cement, and the medical sector, reported ChiniMandi.

The state has received investment proposals exceeding ₹6,321 crore for industrial projects and ₹505 crore in the tourism sector, which are expected to create employment for over 3,000 people.

During the event, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai handed over Invitation to Invest letters to participating companies to enable prompt commencement of projects. The event was attended by Amit Agrawal, Secretary, Pharmaceuticals, Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers; Sandeep Poundrik, Secretary, Ministry of Steel; Chhattisgarh Commerce and Industries Minister Lakhan Lal Dewangan; and Chhattisgarh Tourism Minister Rajesh Agrawal.

The largest investment came from Green Energy Innovation Pvt. Ltd., which committed ₹3,769 crore for a 50 MW waste-to-energy plant. The project will generate electricity from waste, provide employment to 150 people, and help reduce urban waste.

Other key investments include:

RSLD Biofuels Pvt. Ltd. – ₹200 crore for an ethanol plant.

JK Lakshmi Cement Ltd. – ₹1,816.50 crore for an expansion project.

Armani Group of Industries – ₹25 crore in the medical sector.

In the steel sector:

Arti Coated Steel Pvt. Ltd. – ₹315 crore for a coated steel tubes and pipes manufacturing unit, providing jobs for 550 people.

SDRM Metallik Pvt. Ltd., Kanpur – ₹195.75 crore for steel and captive power plants, generating 492 jobs.

Tourism sector investments include:

Mars Vivaan Pvt. Ltd., Raipur – ₹220 crore for a 217-room hotel, creating 522 jobs.

PSA Resort, Jagdalpur – ₹60 crore for a hotel and adventure resort.

Vidya Inn, Jashpurnagar – ₹25 crore for a hotel, together generating over 300 jobs.

Heartfulness Institute, Ranga Reddy, Telangana – ₹200 crore for a wellness resort and education hub, creating 500 jobs.

These investments are expected to transform Bastar and surrounding areas, enhancing hotel infrastructure, generating employment, and attracting tourists to explore tribal culture, jungle safaris, and natural attractions.
