WFW joins project SkyPower to accelerate sustainable aviation fuel production

Watson Farley & Williams (WFW) has announced that it has joined Project SkyPower, an initiative led by CEOs that aims to speed up the production of sustainable aviation fuel (e-SAF) in Europe. The goal of the project is to help the aviation industry reach net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.

Project SkyPower focuses on e-SAF made using green electricity and hydrogen. It is supported by 13 CEOs from the aviation sector and includes over 40 companies from industries such as airlines, airports, technology, and finance. The project’s main aim is to secure investment decisions for the first large-scale production facilities by the end of 2025 and to help scale up production by 2030.

e-SAF is a new technology that could greatly change the aviation industry and play a key role in the global shift to renewable energy.

WFW is bringing its experience in energy and aviation projects to support Project SkyPower. Jim Bell, Co-Head of WFW’s Global Aviation Sector, said, “Changing the aviation industry for a sustainable future is one of the most important challenges of our time. By joining Project SkyPower, we can use our expertise to tackle the challenges of increasing e-SAF production. Our involvement shows our commitment to leading projects that will shape the future of aviation.”
