US fuel ethanol production declined by nearly 3% in the week ended August 14, while stocks and exports increased, according to data released by the US Energy Information Administration on August 19.
Production averaged 1.089 million barrels a day during the week, down by 28,000 barrels a day from 1.117 million barrels a day in the previous week, Ethanol Producer Magazine reported.
However, output was 17,000 barrels a day higher than in the same week last year.
Ethanol stocks rose by 323,000 barrels to 25.121 million barrels from 24.798 million barrels a week earlier. Compared with the same period last year, stocks were up by 2.433 million barrels.
Exports averaged 129,000 barrels a day, an increase of 9,000 barrels a day from 109,000 barrels a day in the previous week. However, exports were 43,000 barrels a day lower than during the same week last year.
The US reported no fuel ethanol imports during the week ended August 14.
