Suzuki Motor Corporation has entered into an agreement to invest in NDDB Mrida Limited, a fully owned subsidiary of the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB), through its wholly owned Indian subsidiary, Suzuki R&D Center India Private Limited. The agreement was formalized at a signing ceremony held yesterday at NDDB’s headquarters in Anand, Gujarat, with the presence of NDDB Executive Director S. Rajeev, Suzuki President Toshihiro Suzuki, and key figures from India’s dairy industry, according to the press release.
As part of its commitment to supporting carbon neutrality in India, Suzuki aims to collaborate with NDDB and Indian dairy industry associations to set up biogas plants.
Mrida, which was founded in July 2022, focuses on environmental conservation and agricultural development. The company specializes in the establishment and operation of biogas plants that utilize cow dung as a resource. Through this partnership, Suzuki plans to expand its biogas operations, working alongside dairy cooperatives across India to establish and run these plants.
