Bolt.Earth marks World EV day with free charging across Pan-India blaze DC network

Bengaluru: Bolt.Earth, India’s largest EV charging network, celebrated World EV Day by offering free charging to two-wheeler EV users nationwide through its Blaze DC fast-charging network. The campaign, conducted over the weekend on September 5 and 6, aimed to make EV charging more accessible, encourage adoption of electric mobility, and contribute to a cleaner environment, according to a press release.

As part of the initiative, EV two-wheeler users could avail free charging at Blaze DC chargers between 8 AM and 1 PM on September 5 and 12 PM and 5 PM on September 6. The timing of the campaign coincided with peak solar energy generation hours in India. By encouraging EV users to charge during this period, Bolt.Earth aimed to align electricity consumption with higher renewable energy availability on the grid, potentially reducing reliance on fossil fuel-based power sources and promoting more sustainable charging habits.

The campaign gave EV users a chance to experience fast, convenient charging at no cost, while highlighting the importance of reliable charging infrastructure in India’s transition to electric mobility.

The campaign saw 1441 users and 1987 charging sessions across 35+ cities, with 2.07 MWh of energy dispensed, underscoring the growing importance of accessible charging as more consumers shift to electric two-wheelers for everyday mobility.

Two-wheelers remain a significant part of India’s EV transition, serving diverse consumers, delivery partners, and gig-economy workers. Through its Blaze DC network, Bolt.Earth continues to build a charging ecosystem that reduces wait times and makes EV ownership more convenient.

Nithin TS, Head of Marketing, Bolt.Earth, said, “The transition to electric mobility is about making sustainable choices easier for everyday consumers. By offering free charging through our Blaze DC network, we wanted to bring the benefits of accessible charging directly to EV users. The strong response reinforces the growing demand for reliable charging infrastructure and our commitment to a cleaner mobility future.”
