Refex Sustainable Solutions Private Limited (RSSPL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Refex Renewables & Infrastructure Limited, has acquired a controlling 51.02% stake in Vyzag Bio-Energy Fuel Private Limited. The transaction, valued at approximately ₹2.9 crore, includes both the purchase of shares from current promoters and an infusion of new equity, reported The Hindu BusinesLine.
As per media report, Vyzag Bio operates a compressed biogas (CBG) plant in Visakhapatnam, producing 850 kg of CBG daily from municipal solid waste. The acquisition, which is expected to be finalized by September 30, represents Refex’s entry into the CBG sector.
This acquisition supports Refex’s strategy to diversify its renewable energy portfolio and reduce its carbon footprint. Vyzag Bio’s current plant has a waste treatment capacity of 30 tonnes per day (TPD), with plans to expand to 100 TPD.
