New biomethane plant to be set up in Selja, Estonia

Balti Biometaan OÜ and OÜ Selja have revealed plans to build a new green gas plant in the Selja area of Estonia. The project aims to produce biogas using local materials, including biodegradable waste, agricultural waste, and various types of biomass. The plant will also clean green carbon dioxide and produce biomethane as the final product.

The final site for the station, along with details about raw material quantities, production capacity, technology, and layout, will be decided in the next stages of development.

The plant will contribute to 3-6 jobs directly in the region. Moreover, indirect jobs will be developed through the following activities: the growth of raw materials, transport, and even maintenance work. The plant may produce biomethane, which can be distributed to local industries.
