KP Group, a prominent player in India’s renewable energy landscape, recently conducted an intensive training programme on green hydrogen at its cutting-edge facility in Matar, Bharuch. Organised in partnership with the Power Sector Skill Council (PSSC), the initiative reflects KP Group’s commitment to workforce development and skill enhancement in the rapidly emerging green hydrogen sector.
More than 35 participants completed the training and received certification after gaining hands-on experience with green hydrogen technologies. This cohort now forms part of India’s future-ready clean energy workforce.
Representatives from the Power Sector Skill Council — Mr. Aaquib Firdous, Mr. Deepanshu Choudhary, and Ms. Harshida Pandya — were present during the training. Mr. Moinul Kadva, Whole-Time Director at KP Green Engineering, also attended the sessions.
The programme aligns with the objectives of the National Green Hydrogen Mission, which seeks to position India as a global leader in green hydrogen production, utilisation, and export. This mission is central to India’s broader strategy to achieve energy independence by 2047 and net-zero emissions by 2070.
Speaking on the initiative, Dr. Faruk G. Patel, Chairman and Managing Director of KP Group, said,
“This training reflects our belief that infrastructure and talent must grow in tandem for India to lead the global clean energy transition. At KP Group, we’re not just building projects — we’re nurturing ecosystems that will power the future.”
Echoing this sentiment, Mr. Moinul Kadva, WTD, KP Green Engineering, added,
“We believe the future of clean energy lies not only in infrastructure but in a skilled and adaptable workforce. This collaboration with PSSC is a step forward in empowering individuals for India’s green hydrogen mission.”
The training leveraged KP Group’s advanced infrastructure at the Matar site, which features Asia’s largest galvanising kettle, cutting-edge CND machines, and sophisticated fabrication facilities. The site is also home to an upcoming green hydrogen plant and supports solar, wind, and hybrid energy projects — providing a comprehensive, real-world learning environment.
Conducted under the expert guidance of the Power Sector Skill Council, the three-day programme covered a range of topics including:
Hydrogen production and electrolysis
Safety protocols in hydrogen handling and storage
Integration of renewables with the grid and storage systems
Operation of galvanising units and electrolysers
Regulatory frameworks (global and India-specific)
The course blended classroom learning, site visits, and practical assessments, equipping participants for roles such as technicians, supervisors, and entrepreneurs within the hydrogen economy.
This initiative is part of KP Group’s broader strategy to drive green hydrogen adoption while fostering innovation and entrepreneurship. By bridging policy, infrastructure, and talent development, the company aims to generate employment and strengthen India’s leadership in sustainable energy.
