Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri said that Green Hydrogen consumption will vastly increase once we start using it in our refineries. Besides controlling our dependence on fossil fuels and crude oil imports, Green Hydrogen has the potential to make India a net fuel exporter as we have low cost green electricity, good transmission infrastructure, captive demand and trained engineering workforce.
India’s potential in green hydrogen electrolyzers is forecasted to surge to $78 billion by 2050, a significant increase from $4 billion in 2030, according to the latest report titled ‘Green Hydrogen for Decarbonizing Asia’s Industrial Giants’ by the Asia Society Policy Institute.
